Former Phoenix Program Director Karlie Hustle named new Hot 97/WQHT music director.
Last Updated on Friday, 2 September 2011 05:54
Written by Phoenix Hip Hop
Friday, September 2nd, 2011

Shot out to Karlie Hustle! she did so much for Phoenix and its hip hop scene. She deserves this position and we wish her luck with it!

got this article from mediabistro.com

Karlie Hustle has been named new Hot 97/WQHT music director. She succeeds Jill Strada who bolted in June to become program director at a Miami radio station.

Hustle is a former Phoenix program director.

“Programming experience, PPM experience, management skills, organizational skills, work ethic, focus and competitive tenacity were some of the attributes we were looking for in filling this position and we found someone. We also hired a fan of the truest forms of Hip-Hop,” Emmis VP/Programming and Hot 97 program director, Ebro Darden, said in a statement. “Karlie’s diverse background and high intellect help her to understand the cultural differences New York has compared to other markets around the country. This is very useful in helping Hot 97 serve the local Hip-Hop community.”

Darden added: “Karlie loves doing charity work, being involved in the community and recently was the Music Business teacher at Phoenix College. With all of her life experience, plus her PPM experience, she made the perfect hire for Music Director and an awesome new addition to our programming department.”

Black & Brown Unity: Chingo Bling’s Response to Katt Williams anti-Mexican rant
Last Updated on Thursday, 1 September 2011 06:48
Written by mav sol camp
Thursday, September 1st, 2011

I just thought I would Post this after watching it, because there’s a LOT of Truth to it! Chingo Bling, a Homie to many Artists & Fans in Arizona, knows what it is like down here for the State as a whole with the very strong Immigration Laws and how they are affecting us ALL! He wants to make sure that it doesn’t go into the wrong direction, just like me…it’s NOT a Black vs Brown thing, it was just One (1) individual, from my view & MANY others’ view from Facebook & the Web, who went from Comedy to a personal heated exchange of words, NOT an entire race! Truth, if you are like me and were not there, you don’t know what was said before, during (what was not on YouTube) or after…there are Two sides to every conflict/story. Am I lieing?!

So we definitely need to make sure that it does not end up going in that wrong direction, it will only set us ALL back to the Barrio days when my Nana & Tata, Mi Ma Ma, and and Mi Generacion were growing up… in the times when it was still divided in South Phoenix. I grew up being disrespected from my own Raza for hanging out with Black Friends, and I got disrespected and had to “defend” myself against Black kids who thought I had no business with their Race, but it didn’t bother me because I have always been color-blind when it came to who I have chosen to be Friends with. Like Chingo Bling said, everyone has their own opinion, and that is mine. Enjoy Chingo Bling’s Formal & Direct Video Response to his Viewers & Fans and the entire World. I think you will like it. If not, then you can Rate it however you want to at the bottom of the Post. “God’s Love” ~ Jo Jo Brown

I want to let our viewers know that PhoenixHipHop.net does not support Racism! The post I posted yesterday about the fight that happened at the Young Jeezy Concert in Phoenix Arizona, on August 25th, 2011 was purely to let viewers know that Young Jeezy is a True Performer! No matter what he still gave Phoenix Arizona the Show they paid for. I give him props for that.

Unfortunately, I saw the video of Katt Williams’ comedy performance Today and was VERY disgusted! You can find it all over the Web if you want, but I will not Post it on this Site. If the Owners of the Site want to post it, that is up to them, but I believe that they feel the same way…Racism has NO place on this Site!

Thank you!

“God’s Love”

Young Jeezy Don’t Stop His Performance for AZ! Even for a Fight! Aug. 25th, 2011

I’m not about the Gossip, so I’m not going to say what I read about what happened and why it happened. I just saw this Video Today, of the fight at the Young Jeezy Concert in Arizona on August 25th, 2011. You all can make up your own opinions or rumors about it, but Katt Williams was part of this fight that occurred behind the Stage of where Young Jeezy was performing and “Katt Williams Pounded On His Chest”…this is the Quote of the Video and what is shown in the Video, not what I am making up. Young Jeezy did tell it like it is and set the crowd & celebrities straight, then continued to perform for AZ!! That is a True “G” & Performer, no matter what, still gives the audience what they came for…NO MATTER WHAT!! ~ Jo Jo Brown
