James Thomas a.k.a. YUNG BOSS was born in Columbus, Georgia on September 2, 1992. A couple years after his birth, he and his parents relocated back to Detroit, Michigan. As the years passed, growing up in the city of Detroit was not easy for this young prodigy. While trying to choose the right path, music became an outlet for YUNG BOSS. At the age of 13 YUNG BOSS began to write songs after being influenced by observing another kid rhyme for the girls at school. Using simple industry instrumentals, he re-made the songs with his own lyrics and style. Soon after he began this musical journey, his father became really involved with his music and began taking him to the studio and purchasing beats so he could make original songs and therefore find/create his own sound. YUNG BOSS became well known in his school for his musical talent by being one of the first there too not only write verses and songs but actually record and distribute CD’s laced with his music as began to emerge and evolve as an ARTIST. At 14 YUNG BOSS moved to Phoenix, Arizona in search of a better life, and immediately started his music takeover by selling over 1000 mixtapes in the Phoenix streets unknown to him and gaining over 250,000 plays on myspace. YUNG BOSS continued his success in the west by doing live shows as well as visiting Detroit from time to time to do the same therefore drawing a buzz from the east to the west coast. YUNG BOSS continues to write and record as much as possible in order to continue to improve his skills. Now YUNG BOSS is 17 and still working hard at his music career. By blending different genres and styles of music anyone could get caught up listening to the melodic sounds and impressive word play of this kids music. YUNG BOSS sites Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, and Drake as his musical influences and states if given the chance to collaborate with any artist in the game it would be Jay-Z.

Check out this interview on Stern Savage about his upcoming mixtape “HOW TO BULLY VOL 2″!
Stern Savage has a big mixtape coming out July 31st so phoenixhiphop.net decided to catch up with him to talk about a few things. Check out this dope interview with Stern Savage
When did you first get into the hip hip scene out here in the phx? I first got involved with the music scene late oct 2005 when I had linked up with go figga entertainment, but because of family issues I had to go back to Philly in April 2006 so i wasn’t able to do much at the time.
You are about to release your newest project “how to bully vol 2″ what was your mindstate when you made this album? I was just thinking I need to make some bangers and make it more fire then how to bully vol 1. I think vol 2 is also more personal then the first cause I put more time into it to make sure I had the right sounding tracks and the right tracks that can be listen to by all different kinds of people.
What is your take on the arizona hip hop scene?? The scenic is AZ is cool it’s not what it can be because it’s a lot of haters and dick riders who are part of it. I think that back in 2005 when I came out here it was dope but now it’s blah. To be honest I only feel that a hand full are dope but majority are wack.
What is your take on the philly hip hop scene??? I Love Philly hip hop cause its hating that goes on there but majority of the artist spit flames and they know how to make things work. And we support out artist if they doing it big then we try to push them to the next level. And our style of flowing is crazy and we do more in the city then out here in AZ, shout out to my fam Reck da Villian and Lou Rizzol.
I know your on your grind hard and I bet your already working on the next project(s) can you let us know what you have in the works? Yeah how to bully vol 2 is dropping after that I got another mix tape called savage life dropping in oct then I got the album savage world dropping on dec 31st. Also me and my business partner Big Haps are going be putting at least 3 computations this year also. And not to mention our artist projects that I’m involved with as far as engineering it or doing some production or features..
If you could battle any rapper in the industry who would it be? and why? I’ll battle anybody don’t matter who it is and the reason is simple, I think I’m good enough to hold my own.
What do you expect to accomplish by the end of this year?? I know I will accomplish a lot with Ash Music and all the stuff we got in the works. We got big plans and the way things are going we will be the top dogs in AZ and if anyone disagree they can make they little diss tracks or what they want. From here on all people need to check for is Ash Music
Where can we hear your music?? My music is all over too many sites and places the best thing to do is google sternsavge and you find me.
Any last words you have for all your fans out here in phx/philly and worldwide? I gotta say thanks to all my fans who show me love but most importantly I want to thank all my haters and doubters because with out y’all I couldn’t do it. And big ups to the whole ASH FAMILY, And all my Philly people, the whole 215, 484, 267 I love y’all
Thanks for doing the interview with phoenixhiphop.net today we appreciate it

Arizona Rapper Big haps interview EXCLUSIVE!
Check it out as Phoenixhiphop.net speaks with Arizona Rapper Big haps about AZ shit.
Whats good with you big haps?
Just been living life. Trying to make good music, work, family. The Good stuff. Getting things wrapped up with this Wide Body project, and out here getting my brand “ASH Music” established.
You are born and raised in Phoenix? What was it like growing up out here??
Yup, born and raised in Phoenix Az, born at the County Hospital to be exact, haha.
Growing up out here is the same as growing up in LA ,Chicago or any other big city. These streets are just as cold. People think of Phoenix and think about cactus and shit, haha….Theres more to it then that homie. My mother passed away when I was young, so I lived in other hoods that I wasn’t from. I lived at my nannas off 8th street and Garfield, then at my aunts over in MaryVale, even went to MaryVale High for a bit. But through all that, I was able to be my own man. And Lerned that there is always struggle in the road to victory.
When did you first get into the hip hip scene out here in Phx?
Well, we used to throw house party’s back in the day. That’s when the party sceen was huge. We establised a party crew known as “Playaz Inc” Those days were the shit. Crazy times. Well during these house party’s we would grab the mic and sypher at the dj table. After doing that for a bit, we got the hunger to hit the studio. And that party crew was then a group. Playaz Inc started with me and Bayng, then Mixxx joined in. We started hitten studios like Phase 4, Iroc’s, Living Head, and all those.
I know your on your grind hard and I bet your already working on the next project(s) can you let us know what you have in the works?
Thanks I appreciate that fam. Well after Wide Body drops, I will be working on another mixtape called “Toxicology” as well as another album. I also have a Playaz Inc mixtape that ASH Music will be dropping as well as an ASH Music compilation. Sounds like a lot? No, Lol….Thats just how I work. I like to stay busy.
who did you look up to in the Phoenix hip hop game growing up?
That’s a good question. Im not a young cat, Lol. So there arent very many people out here that are older than me that have been doing it for so long, that werent my peers. But I will be very honest, Iroc “Roca Dolla” was the dude that I looked up to. I never told him that, but he is that guy that has always kept it 100! A true pioneer. And you cant say that about too many cats in Phoenx Hip Hop.
Who do you think can blow up the Phoenix hip hop scene?
I THOUGHT it was CinQue. He had the Marketabilty and Talent. But were is dude now?
It has to be a uniform front. No One person is going to do it. But people don’t get that side of it. Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians ya dig?
What is the best show you have ever done in Phoenix?
Man……That’s a tough one. I don’t think it was in Phoenix to be honest. I would say Baby Bash in Flagstaff .
Who are you favorite producers coming out of Phoenix ariozna??
Main Ingredient, 21 The Producer, and Roca Dolla. And ohh by the way, my album will have beats from all 3.
You also produce talk about what eqipment you use to make your beats?
People don’t realize I can make some heaters. I use the Motif ES Rack, MPC 1000, and Reason. Fucking with Frooty Loops a bit now too. My set up is simple and efficient.
What type of style would you say your beats are?
A mix Bay Area, West Coast and Dirty South. And I mean that.
Any last words you have for all your fans out here in Phoenix and worldwide?
Please get out and snatch my album 122 Degreez. Get it on Itunes and CdBaby. Arizona Strong Hold Music is on the take over. Shot out to my people Stern Savage, The Crooks, Playaz Inc!
ASH Music!!!
Listen to Im a big boy
